About Michelle Goodridge

I grew up in Belleville, Ontario, moving to the Region of Waterloo in 2005 to attend university. When we were looking for homes in 2008, we fell in love with Cambridge and we have been here ever since.  I lived in Ward 1 for 14 years and even got married at Cambridge City Hall in 2007 to my lovely partner Tim.

I have been very active in my community championing for causes such as heritage, the environment, sustainable development, affordable housing, livable cities, arts and culture, and infrastructure investment. I formerly worked for the City of Cambridge Archives as a summer student and volunteered with Idea Exchange for over 3 years. I have been a member of the city’s Municipal Heritage Advisory Committee for several years and an active citizen appearing before council multiple times speaking up for my neighbours and for the City of Cambridge. I also was recently appointed Vice Chair of the city’s Placemaking Working Group.

I am a librarian/faculty member at a local university and an accomplished scholar which means I do my due diligence when researching issues within our community. I have appeared numerous times in the Record, The Cambridge Times, Cambridge Today, on The Mike Farwell Show, and CTV News Kitchener talking about what matters.

I am confident I would be an excellent member of council. One who is in the community, listening to citizens, conducting the necessary research, and making the best decisions for our community. I’d love to hear from you and what matters the most to you so that I can be the very best representative I can. I look forward to our journey together and wish you all the very best.
